STRONGARM’s Vertica Ministation was the first height adjustable operator interface and HMI system. Remastered and updated over the years, the Ministation continues to be the industry leading operator interface system. The counterbalanced vertical motion allows the operator to effortlessly lift, lower and reposition the HMI using one hand by pulling on the on the release handle, once released the arm automatically locks in the vertical position. Type 4 and 12 units are made from powder coated carbon steel and cast aluminum while Type 4X units are fabricated from either 304 or 316L Stainless Steel. Like all of Strongarm’s products the Ministation is engineered to order allowing us to modify your system to meet your specific requirements. Strongarm offers integration services for all Operator Interface Systems and HMI’s, whether its customer supplied component integration and wiring or customer specified and Strongarm procured and integrated components.

Touchscreens

Resistive (5-Wire) (All sizes)

Resistive is the most common type of touchscreen technology, mainly due to its accuracy and reliability. It is a low cost solution found in many industrial applications. The standard resistive touchscreen consists of a glass panel and resistive coating plus a polyester cover sheet which has a conductive coating. It can withstand such environmental conditions as liquid spills, splashes, and HMI industrial wash downs. It has a lifecycle that exceeds most other touchscreens at 35 million finger touches, and works with fingers, gloves, and other various styluses.

GFG Resistive (5-Wire) (15.1", 19.1")

The GFG resistive touchscreen is similar to the standard resistive touchscreen in terms of operation. Additionally, it is designed with an anti-scratch surface of thin borosilicate glass over top of the polyester overlay making it extremely water proof. The GFG resistive touchscreen has a surface hardness greater than 5 Mohs, yet maintains the accuracy and reliability of the standard 5-Wire resistive. It has an easily cleanable surface and is corrosion and scratch resistant. The GFG- Resistive touchscreen works with fingers, gloves, and other various styluses.

Infrared (15.1", 17.1", 19.1", 24"W)

Strongarm’s infrared touchscreens are made to withstand the most severe environments. The filter or window is made from 3/8” thick polycarbonate which makes these touchscreens almost completely vandal resistant. It’s the only technology that does not rely on an overlay or substrate; it uses infrared LEDs so it’s impossible to wear out the sensor. The touch frame contains a row of infrared LEDs and photo transistors, each mounted on two opposite sides to create a grid of invisible infrared light. These touchscreens are a solid state device and are very tolerant to shock and vibration. Infrared touchscreens work with gloves and various styluses.

Projected Capacitive (17.1", 19.1")

Also known as PCAP, projected capacitive touchscreens are a variant of the capacitive touch technology. PCAP touchscreens are made up of a matrix of rows and columns of conductive material layered on sheets of glass. The outer layer of vandal-proof glass can be up to 18mm in thickness. When the touchscreen is energized and a conductive object such as a finger comes into contact with the glass touch panel, it distorts the electrostatic field at that specific point. Even if the glass is scratched or broken it will still function properly. PCAP touchscreens work with gloves and are best suited for outdoor applications, as it works well in rain, snow, ice and dust.
